‘Oak and Owl’ is an exhibition of photos, sounds and objects at the Teggs Nose Gallery next to Macclesfield forest (27th September – 22nd October 2025). A previous exhibition of black and white photography from the forest shown in the gallery inspired me to dust off my film cameras, forgotten in the rush to digital, and roam the forest with them. The images are all analogue, shot on film and printed using the ‘lith’ process which emphasises grain, texture and contrast and adds tone to the grey-scale. (Capturing Light)
The shape of the show was defined by the title (Oak and Owl Story) from a poem and song I wrote, which reflects my concern in my life and work that we care for the planet, our only home, not only for ourselves but importantly for our children, and our children’s children (Kabul Kids).
The exhibition reflects, also, my multi-media background; hence the slice of tree, text, poem, and music in the gallery. It’s not online – you have to be there! If you’ve visited and would like to know more, or would like any of the prints, get in touch
